VALDIVIEZ
Pronounced (Val-dee-vee-ez), Valdiviez is a Mexican-American and African-American singer-songwriter hailing from the Washington, DC Metropolitan area via San Antonio, Texas. Her powerful vocals deliver interesting and creative music with eclectic sounds of R&B, Pop, Rock, and Hip Hop, coupled with unique beats and intriguing lyrics.
Her mother is a 20 years Army Veteran and Valdiviez frequently moved across the U.S and overseas, exposing her to various cultures and ideals which molded her open mind and stimulated an early interest in The Arts. She began singing and dancing at the ripe age of 4 and remained active in dance, musical theater, and vocal performances throughout adolescence. She began acting in middle school and has since been cast in various plays, musical theater productions, and short films.
Along with Art and the pursuit of knowledge, writing music and poetry was an early outlet and passion of Valdiviez's. Her life experiences, both negative and positive, inspire her music and have enabled her to become a stronger person. Valdiviez believes music is a universal language and with her edgy, thought provoking lyrics and catchy hooks, she strives to inspire and encourage a global audience to live free, push past adversity, and attain their dreams, goals, and aspirations. In 2013 Valdiviez coined her distinctive brand, "Lipstick Maffia", a lifestyle brand & community for her fans to uplift themselves, while exuding the essence of inner and outer beauty, strength, style, freedom, and resilience, even in the midst of chaos and turmoil. The bi-racial beauty has been sonically compared with the likes of Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys, Rita Ora, P!nk, The Weeknd, and Rhianna. Valdiviez’s music, image & brand are elements of an unforgettable superstar in the making. She is currently recording her debut EP entitled "Ink", which is set to release Spring 2015.
